A man suffered thermal burns after a section of pavement collapsed beneath him on Dusenov Street in Pavlodar. At the time of the incident, a four-year-old child was beside him.
WHAT HAPPENED
The incident was described on social media by the victim's sister. According to her, the man was walking along the pavement with a child near the house at 10 Dusenov Street when the ground suddenly gave way beneath his feet.
The woman claims the man ended up in hot water. According to her, he suffered second-degree burns above the knees. The victim's sister demanded an investigation, that those responsible be identified and held to account.
THE VICTIM'S CONDition
In the Pavlodar Region Health Department, it was reported that the victim, born in 1991, was hospitalised in the burns unit of City Hospital No. 1.
The man was diagnosed with thermal burns to both shins of II–III degree. The affected area amounts to 7%, and the patient's condition is assessed as moderately severe.
WHAT THE HEATING NETWORKS SAID
In the comments under the post, Pavlodar Heating Networks LLP confirmed that damage had occurred to the heating networks on that section.
The company stated that "appropriate measures will be taken" regarding the situation.
CONTEXT
In April 2026, during excavation works in Pavlodar, there was a ground collapse which left five people buried under the debris. As a result of the incident, two workers died and three others were injured.
