In Atyrau, the former head of the city police department, Baktybek Issayev, has been taken to a temporary detention facility (TDF). A pre-trial investigation has been launched against him.
WHAT HAPPENED
As noted by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), violations by the head of the city police department were identified during an internal inspection. As a result, a criminal case has been opened.
"In accordance with the established procedure, he has been dismissed from the internal affairs bodies on negative grounds and placed in a temporary detention facility. No further information is subject to disclosure in the interests of the investigation," the MIA reported.
It is noted that the decisions were made as part of the principled approach carried out by the Minister of Internal Affairs, aimed at ensuring legality and the inevitability of responsibility for any violations of official discipline and the law, regardless of the position held.
WHO IS INVOLVED IN THE CASE
As reported by the Telegram channel "HALYQSTAN", the case is linked to possible violations concerning narcotic substances that were meant to be stored as material evidence.
Meanwhile, other figures involved — the head of the department for combating drug crime, Alisher Nurshayev, and the head of the internal security department, Salamat Kaliyev — remain at large. No preventive measure has been announced regarding them at this time.
