The former mayor of the rural district of Kenkiyak in the Aktobe region, Kuanyshbek Serikzhanov, was found dead on the morning of 6 May in his own home. The day before, an order had been signed dismissing him from his post.
WHAT IS KNOWN
The press service of the Akimat of the Aktobe region confirmed the information about his death. On 4 May 2026, Kuanyshbek Serikzhanov wrote a resignation letter, and on 5 May, an order was signed dismissing him from his post.
On Wednesday, 6 May, he was found dead in his home in the village of Kenkiyak.
WHAT THE POLICE SAID
According to the Police Department (DP) of the Aktobe region, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the death of a man born in 1983.
'As part of the investigation, all circumstances of the incident will be established. No further information is subject to disclosure in the interests of the investigation,' the statement said.
WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT KUANYSHBEK SERIKZHANOV
Kuanyshbek Serikzhanov had worked in the civil service since 2013. He had held the position of mayor of the rural district of Kenkiyak since 2023.
He is survived by four children.
