The Akim of Pavlodar Region Asain Baikhanov visited Aksu, where he inspected the city's restoration after the hurricane that struck on 19 June. The disaster claimed the life of a city resident, Marina Pakhomova.
On his Instagram page, Baikhanov reported that the victim's family had been provided with the necessary assistance.
"Compensation has been paid, and a two-year advance payment for utilities has been made, along with funds allocated to settle existing loans," the statement reads.
The Akim noted that a great deal of work had been done in the city to restore facilities, but he was nonetheless不满 with the pace.
"I have instructed that within three days, all fallen trees be cleared, especially in the Aksu microdistrict, from where I received the highest number of complaints about the inaction of the city's utility services," Baikhanov reported.
At the same time, he issued reprimands to the Akim of Aksu, his deputy, and the head of the apparatus for poor communication with the public in the first days after the emergency.
Asain Baikhanov also instructed the city's Akim to dismiss two heads of authorised bodies from their positions or demote them. The regional Akim plans to visit Aksu again next week to inspect the organisation of all work.
