In Ust-Kamenogorsk, an explosion occurred on the territory of one of the industrial enterprises, followed by a fire and partial collapse of the structure. According to preliminary information, four people have been hospitalised.
WHAT HAPPENED AT THE ENTERPRISE
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM), an explosion of a dust-collecting device occurred on the territory of Kazzinc LLP. An open fire broke out after this, and part of the structure collapsed.
Units arriving at the scene confirmed the fire and began extinguishing it. An operational headquarters has been set up to coordinate actions.
HOW THE EXTINGUISHING OPERATION IS PROCEEDING
By the efforts of EMERCOM, the fire on the territory of the enterprise has been contained. Rescuers are conducting debris removal and dousing the fire centres until they are completely extinguished.
At the scene, 40 personnel and 10 units of equipment are involved.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE CASUALTIES
According to preliminary data, four people have been hospitalised. Rescuers are continuing to search for possible casualties.
ENVIRONMENTAL SITUATION CHECK
The Department of Ecology for the East Kazakhstan Region (EKR) reported that specialists have been dispatched to the scene to assess air quality.
The department is conducting instrumental measurements of ambient air quality at the boundary of the sanitary protection zone. The results of the studies are promised to be provided later.
