Committee for the Protection of Consumer Rights protected citizens' rights to the tune of 405 million tenge in 2026

In the first quarter of 2026, the consumer protection committee of the Ministry of Trade and Integration reviewed more than 22,000 citizen complaints. As a result of its work, consumer rights were protected to the sum of 405 million tenge.

WHAT COMPLAINTS WERE REVIEWED

The information was announced by the chairman of the consumer protection committee, Bolat Tanabergenov, at the Central Communications Service (CCS).

According to him, consumer demands were satisfied in 7,300 cases, accounting for 32.6% of the total. In a further 7,200 cases, citizens were provided with legal assistance and the necessary clarifications.

As part of inter-agency cooperation, 5,700 complaints were forwarded to relevant state bodies according to their competence. At the time of publication, approximately 2,500 complaints were either under review or had been withdrawn by the complainants themselves.

WHERE THE MOST INSPECTIONS WERE CONDUCTED

In the first quarter, regional departments carried out 308 inspections of business entities.

The largest number of control measures took place in Astana, Almaty, as well as in the Turkistan region and the Almaty region.

WHAT MEASURES WERE TAKEN AGAINST BUSINESSES

As a result of inspections, 430 administrative cases were initiated against businesses. The total amount of fines was 12 million tenge.

The committee also reported that, thanks to the work carried out in the first three months of the year, consumer rights were protected regarding the return, exchange and replacement of goods to the sum of 405 million tenge.
