Ex-president of Kyrgyzstan Atambayev has been sentenced in absentia to 11.5 years in prison.

The Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek has found the former President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Almazbek Atambayev, guilty in the case concerning the events in the village of Koi-Tash in August 2019. He was sentenced in absentia to 11 years and 6 months in prison with confiscation of property, and was also stripped of state awards.
