Residents of an unnamed village located near Aktau have been unable to legalise their homes for 20 years. According to MIA "Kazinform", the settlement is not officially registered and does not even appear on the map.

"The Aktau Akimat is not giving us a specific answer. We contacted the land relations department. They said they would look into it, check the documents and consult with the Akimat. And so the time drags on," says Kamila Khashimova, a resident of the village.

It is reported that 12 families live in the village. No public transport runs here, and ambulances do not come. Children have to travel to school in Aktau.

"My health is poor, my eyes are failing. I have been ill for a week. I cannot see a doctor because there are no buses," says villager Elmira Rasulova.

At the same time, the villagers have to pay large sums for electricity at the legal entity tariff. The village also cannot have a gas pipeline installed due to the lack of documents.

Meanwhile, the Aktau Land Relations Department reported that the territory of the unnamed village belongs to the city and is a production zone.

It is noted that residential houses for workers of a military construction unit were previously built on this site.

"The reason why residents pay for electricity as legal entities is that their meter is located on the territory of the LLP 'Aktau Sut'. They must legalise their homes in order to pay for electricity as individuals. This issue is being considered by the relevant departments of the city Akimat together with utility companies," the statement says.
