The criminal case against Khasan Kasymbaev and five accomplices continues to be heard in the Talgar District Court. Kasymbaev is accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm on mixed martial arts coach Arman Alimov and of extorting money from Ayupzhan Tazhiev in 2021.

According to Nege.kz, the victim, Ayupzhan Tazhiev, who had avoided appearing in court for a long time, finally gave testimony. According to lawyer Gulmira Babazhanova, Tazhiev stated that he has no complaints against Khasan Kasymbaev. He confirmed only one fact — that Kasymbaev hit him once — but denies any instances of extortion. At the same time, he maintains his complaints against another defendant in the case — Darkhan.

Only three of the six defendants were present at the hearing: Khasan Kasymbaev, Ruslan Aliev and Daniyar Askarov. The others cited health problems. Judge Ainagul Tukubaeva allowed Tazhiev to give testimony in the absence of some of the accused, which provoked a protest from the defence.

The lawyers challenged the judge four times, arguing that the hearing of serious charges without the opportunity for the defendants to personally question the victim violates their rights and contradicts the criminal procedure code.

Khasan Kasymbaev was arrested in November last year. Along with him, Ruslan Aliev, Madiyar Kalymzhanov, Sailau Aktanov, Nurmukhammet Sultanbekov and Daniyar Askarov are accused. The materials of the criminal case comprise 36 volumes.

Kasymbaev's name was previously mentioned in connection with the murder of 16-year-old Sherzat Polat in Talgar — local residents called him the leader of the 'Khutorskie' group, which was allegedly linked to the crime. This information has not been officially confirmed. The trial in the murder case of Sherzat Polat concluded on 5 June in Taldykorgan — nine people received sentences ranging from one and a half to 23 years.
