The criminal case of Khasan Kasymbaev has been sent to the Talgar District Court on charges of complicity in kidnapping and intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm. This was reported by Centralmedia24, citing the Almaty Region Prosecutor's Office.

Some residents link Kasymbaev to the alleged organised criminal group (OCG) 'Khutorskiye'.

On 29 July 2025, the prosecutor's office approved the indictment and sent the materials to court. The case was investigated by the investigative department of the Almaty Region Police Department. The investigation was completed on 21 July, after which the documents were transferred to the prosecutor's office.

Kasymbaev's name had previously appeared in the media following the murder of 16-year-old Sherzat Polat in Talgar. At the time, local residents claimed that members of the 'Khutorskiye' group, whose alleged leader is Kasymbaev, may have been involved in the crime. This information has not been officially confirmed.

Recall that on 5 June in Taldykorgan, the trial for the high-profile murder of 16-year-old Sherzat Polat concluded. Nine people received sentences ranging from one and a half to 23 years for murder, attempted murder, hooliganism, theft, and failure to report a crime.

By court decision, the total amount of moral compensation to the victim's relatives amounted to 120 million tenge.

60 million tenge was recovered from the main defendant, found guilty of murder. 30 million tenge in compensation was ordered from the second defendant in the murder case.

The other convicted persons, jointly with one of the main defendants, must pay an additional 30 million tenge for committing acts of hooliganism.

The court also issued a special ruling, drawing the prosecutor's attention to possible signs of a crime in the actions of four witnesses.
