In the production block of the Bolashak mine at the Donskoy Mining and Processing Plant (GOK) - a branch of JSC TNC Kazchrome in the Khromtau district of the Aktobe region, a brief ignition of the air occurred. Three employees were injured, two of whom are in intensive care in a serious condition.
According to the MIA "Kazinform", during the installation of equipment by the duty electrical fitters at the site, a release of hydrogen occurred, which caused the ignition.
"The employees suffered burns to their faces and hands. The injured were promptly taken to the Central District Hospital in Khromtau, where they are receiving all necessary qualified medical care. The plant's management is in constant contact with doctors and relatives," the company reported.
The regional health department stated that two patients are in intensive care in a serious condition, and a third is in the traumatology department in a moderately severe condition.
It was noted that all patients are receiving the full scope of necessary treatment and are under constant medical supervision.
For context, in February a brief ignition of the air also occurred at the Bolashak mine in the Khromtau district. At that time, four workers sustained burns. One of them later died in hospital.
