On 27 August, an accident occurred on the premises of MAEK LLP (Mangystau Nuclear Power and Desalination Plant) during repair work on turbine generator No. 3. Two fitters sustained burns from hot water.
According to Lada.kz, the Mangystau Region State Labour Inspectorate Committee department has set up a commission to establish the circumstances and causes of the incident.
"Around 14:30, two repair fitters sustained burns from hot water while loosening the shut-off valve. The injured were promptly given medical assistance: one worker was discharged home after examination, the second was hospitalised for further treatment," the statement said.
It may be recalled that last December, a repair shop foreman died at MAEK in Aktau. It was reported that a pipe fell on him.
