In one of the military units of the Ayagoz garrison in the Abai region, a conscript soldier died. According to the press service of the Ministry of Defence, the tragedy occurred during exercises.
"On 13 June, during the conduct of an exercise, a breach of safety measures occurred. A conscript soldier from one of the military units of the Ayagoz garrison sustained an injury incompatible with life," the statement said.
An official investigation has been launched into the incident, and a criminal case has been opened.
"Those responsible and officials will face appropriate punishment under the Criminal Code and the Disciplinary Regulations of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the department reported.
Recall that earlier in Aktau, a soldier from military unit No. 25744 beat recruits on the head with a stool and a baton. A criminal case was opened against him, but it was later discontinued due to a reconciliation between the parties.
