An incident involving a bladed weapon occurred at a university in Almaty. A student stabbed a teacher with a knife on the grounds of ALT University.
According to Centralmedia24.kz, footage of the incident spread on social media. The footage shows the suspect on the floor, his hand covered in blood, with a folding knife lying nearby.
Commenters speculated that the attack may have been motivated by a conflict over grades. However, the university administration refuted this version, clarifying that the injured teacher does not teach the student in question.
The Almaty police department reported that a criminal case has been opened regarding the incident.
"The suspect was apprehended hot on the heels and placed in a temporary detention facility. Other circumstances are being established," police said.
According to preliminary information, the teacher did not sustain serious physical injuries.
