In the Almaty region, police have stopped the activities of a criminal group suspected of the illegal trade in children.
According to Polisia.kz, officers identified a group of individuals on the social network "surak.baribar" who may have been engaged in illegal activity under the guise of the adoption of minors.
"During operational search activities, officers of the regional organised crime department identified a 38-year-old suspect, a native of the Kyzylorda region", the statement reads.
Footage released by the police shows officers of the organised crime department detaining a woman and finding a bag of money with her. A baby also periodically appears in the video.
Police have opened a criminal case into the trade of minors. The suspect has been taken into custody.
