The mayor of the Shilikti rural district of the Zaisan region of the East Kazakhstan region, Kuanysh Toleukhan, has been embroiled in a scandal after a heated exchange with residents. A video of the incident, which was accompanied by obscene language, has spread on social media.
According to ORDA, villagers came to the official for a meeting and began asking questions about the work of the local administration.
In response, Toleukhan raised his voice and used inappropriate language. At the time, a police officer was present in the room, who, according to eyewitnesses, did not react to what was happening.
The East Kazakhstan region's administration stated that they had demanded an official explanation from the official. The materials were sent to the Ethics Council of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs to consider the matter of a violation of official conduct standards.
It has become known that Kuanysh Toleukhan has held the position of village mayor since 24 July.
