A resident of Shymkent is suspected of collecting money under the pretext of helping to treat children from the Talgar District.
According to Polisia.kz, the fraudster used photographs of children who were indeed suffering from oncological diseases. At the same time, he posted the details of a fake bank card.
"By tracking the movement of funds, we managed to identify the suspect, who is a resident of Shymkent. So far, around 6,000 money transfers to the fake account have been established, totalling more than 32 million tenge," the police reported.
Law enforcement officers have opened a criminal case on charges of fraud. The suspect has been taken into custody. They are currently checking his involvement in other similar crimes.
