In Semey, a 13-year-old schoolboy inflicted 15 stab wounds on a peer. The boy was hospitalised and underwent emergency surgery.
WHAT HAPPENED
According to the Telegram channel "HALYQSTAN", a 13-year-old schoolboy inflicted 15 stab wounds on his peer in the area of the torso and limbs. Bleeding heavily, the injured teenager managed to run to neighbours, who informed his relatives of what had happened.
The boy was taken to hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. His condition is currently assessed as moderate severity. The second schoolboy was also found to have wounds, but they were not life-threatening. After receiving medical assistance, he was sent home.
WHAT THE POLICE ARE ESTABLISHING
According to the police department (PD) of the Abai region, on 10 September a report was received by the police about the hospitalisation of two individuals with bodily injuries. A pre-trial investigation is being conducted into the incident.
According to one preliminary version, the teenagers found a knife and were playing with it. It is possible that one of the boys accidentally wounded the other, after which the second inflicted multiple stab and cut wounds on him. What actually happened is being established by the investigation.
WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE INVESTIGATION
The case is being investigated under Part 2 of Article 106 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan ("Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm"). The investigation will need to establish the cause of the conflict and find out where the teenagers got the knife.
Based on the results of the investigation, the question of placing the minors on a preventive register, as well as holding their legal representatives accountable for the improper performance of their duties in raising children, will be considered.
The final procedural decision will be taken based on the results of the investigation.
