At a meeting of the board of the presidential administration of Kyrgyzstan, the head of the cabinet of ministers, Akylbek Japarov, banned members of the government from attending celebratory events.
According to 24.kg, the head of the cabinet reminded ministers of President Sadyr Japarov's decree, which stipulates a ban on the slaughter of livestock and unreasonable expenses when holding toi (traditional celebrations).
"If you see wastefulness somewhere, do not appear there. Do not go to toi," said Akylbek Japarov.
It is noted that in February 2022, a law on restrictions during events came into force in Kyrgyzstan.
"The goal is to improve the social and economic standard of living of citizens, as well as to prevent wastefulness during religious ceremonies, rituals, and other events that negatively affect the spiritual atmosphere in society," the statement reads.
