The Ministry of Health has banned a specific batch of the drug "Streptocide" in Kazakhstan.

The Chairman of the Committee for Medical and Pharmaceutical Control (CMPC) has signed an order banning the medical use and withdrawal from circulation of the medicinal product "Streptocide" manufactured by the Kazakh company JSC "Khimpharm".

WHICH BATCH HAS BEEN BANNED

The ban applies to the product "Streptocide", tablets of 300 mg, 10 tablets per blister pack, 5 blister packs per cardboard box.

Registration certificate — RK-LS-5No003366.

Batch 25080430 has been withdrawn, with an expiry date of 08.2030. Manufacturer — JSC "Khimpharm" (Kazakhstan).

The order provides for a ban on the further circulation of this batch within the country.

ON WHAT BASIS WAS THE ORDER ISSUED

The document was signed on 23 February 2026, No. 124-НҚ.

It was issued in accordance with subparagraph 13 of Article 10 and subparagraph 1 of paragraph 1 of Article 259 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the health of the people and the healthcare system", as well as paragraph 13 of the Rules for the suspension, prohibition or withdrawal from circulation or restriction of the use of medicinal products and medical devices.

The reasons for the ban on the specific batch are not specified in the text of the order.

WHO HAS BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE BAN

The Department of Unscheduled Control of Pharmaceutical Activities of the CMPC has been instructed to notify, within one working day:

  • the territorial subdivisions of the committee;
  • the state expert organisation in the field of circulation of medicinal products and medical devices;
  • NJSC "Social Health Insurance Fund";
  • LLP "SK-Pharmacy".

The order came into force on the date of signing.
