The president issued a reprimand to the akim of the Karaganda region

Following the dismissal of the akim of Saran, Yerkin Baulykov, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev issued a reprimand to the akim of the Karaganda region, Yermaganbet Bulekpaev.

This was reported by the adviser to the President's press secretary, Berik Uali, on his Facebook page.

"The Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, issued a reprimand to the akim of the Karaganda region, Yermaganbet Bulekpaev, for inadequate control over the progress of preparations for the heating season," the statement reads.

It will be recalled that on 13 October, residents of Saran began to complain en masse about the cold in their apartments. The following day, the city's akim, Yerkin Baulykov, announced that the city would temporarily revert to the old local boiler houses.

On 15 October, the issue of heating problems in the city of Saran was discussed at a government meeting. Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov stated that those responsible would be held accountable. In addition, residents of Saran were promised a recalculation for heat supply in October. 

On 17 October, the Minister of Energy, Almasadam Satkaliyev, reported the full connection of residential buildings and social facilities in Saran to the heat supply systems. 

On 28 October, the akim of Saran, Yerkin Baulykov; the head of the Energy and Housing and Communal Services Department of the Karaganda region, Tlektes Dosayev; and the first deputy akim of the region, Azamatzhan Taizhanov, received severe reprimands from the region's akim for inadequate control over preparations for the heating season.

On 29 October, the akim of Saran was removed from his post. Maksat Kaipeshov was appointed acting akim.
