A local state of emergency has been declared in the Shet District of the Karaganda Region, and electricity supply has been restricted due to problems with power provision.
According to the press service of the regional akimat, Shet-Energo LLP failed to comply with the requirements of the Zhezkazgan Distribution Electricity Grid Company JSC regarding the transmission of electricity.
Furthermore, it was noted that the company had not invested in modernising the electricity grids, which led to systematic power supply disruptions.
“Residents are suffering due to frequent outages, and are left not only without lights but also without heating. Despite constant warnings, the quality of ‘Shet-Energo’s’ services is not improving”, the statement said.
Officials at the district akimat explained that the state of emergency was introduced to stabilise the power supply situation.
To recall, in December 2024, in the Irgelinsky rural district of the Karasai region in the Almaty Region, 25,000 residents of the Asyl Arman residential complex were left without electricity due to debts owed by the power supply company BeyAzhTrans LLP to AlmatyEnergoSbyt LLP.
After negotiations between the district akimat and the management of ‘BeyAzhTrans’, the parties reached an agreement to restore the electricity supply.
