The Pavlodar prosecutor's office stopped the purchase of food products at inflated prices in the city's kindergartens.

According to the department's press service, nursery-kindergarten No. 23 posted an announcement on the public procurement portal for the purchase of 18,000 litres of milk (fat content – 2.5%) for 50,620,500 tenge, that is, 2,812 tenge per litre.

Meanwhile, the average price of milk with similar characteristics is 345 tenge per litre.

"The purchase of milk by nursery-kindergarten No. 23 at a price of 2,812 tenge per litre would have led to excessive and unjustified expenditure of budget funds in the amount of 44,410,500 tenge", the statement said.

In another case, nursery-kindergarten No. 102 planned to purchase 14,520 kg of potatoes for 19,455,783 tenge (1,340 tenge per kg). While in the city's shops, potatoes are sold at a price of from 120 to 380 tenge per kilogram.

By the measures of the prosecutor's office, these purchases were cancelled, the purchase price of food products was reduced, and those responsible were held accountable.
