In the hospital of the Maqanshy district of the Abay region, prosecutors uncovered violations of legislation regarding the provision of medicines to the population.
According to the press service of the regional prosecutor's office, law enforcement officers identified improper storage of preparations, untimely disposal of ampoules containing narcotic drugs, and incorrect prescribing of medications.
In addition, it emerged that doctors used an expired anaesthetic medication (narcotic) called "Ketam" on patients during operations.
"As a result of the measures taken by the prosecutor's office, 12 officials of the medical institution were subjected to disciplinary action, and 12 individuals were fined administrative penalties under Article 426 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Kazakhstan (violation of rules of pharmaceutical activity and the sphere of circulation of medicines and medical devices) amounting to 1.5 million tenge", the statement reads.
