Following the call from Kassym-Jomart Tokayev not to stand idly by, the Kazakh automotive company 'Allur' has allocated an additional 3 billion tenge for the restoration and construction of housing for residents of the Kostanay region affected by the floods.
The total financial contribution from the group of enterprises owned by Andrey Lavrentyev thus amounted to 3.5 billion tenge. Previously, companies under his control transferred 500 million tenge to the corporate fund 'Demeu Kazakhstan Kory'.
'Fully aware of the social responsibility of business, our enterprises are directing their aid and are confident in the swift return of our fellow citizens to normal life and the restoration of the conditions that existed before the disaster, in the face of which all Kazakhs have united', is stated in the collective address from the factories.
The industrial enterprise 'AgromashHoldingKZ', for its part, has decided to reduce prices on its products in support of Kazakh farmers.
The Saran plant for the production of household appliances, 'SilkRoadElectronics', handed over new televisions to residents of the Shet district of the Karaganda region affected by the flooding.
Furthermore, from the very first days of the emergency, the engineering enterprises of Kostanay and Saran organised the collection of humanitarian aid, mobilised special equipment and volunteers from among their employees.
Earlier we reported on how society united in the face of the floods. Among those who showed solidarity were authorities, the public, and representatives of business, as well as political parties and intellectuals.
We also reported which Kazakh companies allocated money in response to the government's appeal to provide assistance to flood victims.
The largest sponsors included: the 'Samruk-Kazyna' group of companies (15 billion tenge), the 'Kazakhstan Khalqyna' fund (5 billion tenge), 'Tengizchevroil' (2 billion tenge), 'Chevron Corporation' ($3 million).
Organisations such as 'Freedom Holding', 'KAZ Minerals', 'BI Group', 'Allur', 'Qarmet', as well as banks Halyk, Kaspi kz and others, also decided to help the victims.
