In the Karaganda region, violations of environmental requirements were identified on the part of LLP "GRES Topar". An inspection, initiated by the Specialised Environmental Prosecutor's Office based on monitoring, revealed facts of air dust pollution in the village of Topar. The cause was non-compliance with the rules during the dewatering and irrigation of ash dump sections.

According to the press service of the regional prosecutor's office, the regional ecology department conducted an inspection, the results of which confirmed a breach of the law. It was established that the enterprise carried out recultivation of the ash dump without the appropriate permit for emissions into the environment and without a positive conclusion from the state environmental expert review.

Based on the results of the inspection, an administrative fine in the amount of 55 million tenge was imposed on LLP "GRES Topar". Supervision over the elimination of violations and compliance with environmental legislation is ongoing, the department reported.

Earlier, in April, similar measures were taken in the West Kazakhstan region: the company "Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V." was fined 740 million tenge for polluting the region's environment.
