In Almaty, the old dilapidated building of the State Institution «Specialised Complex «Zhanuya» for orphaned children will be demolished, and a new, more modern one will be built in its place.
According to the press service of the city akimat, a dormitory with reading and sports halls will be built for the residents.
«The construction company BI Group, as part of its corporate social responsibility, plans to demolish the old building and construct a new modern complex at its own expense. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2025», the statement said.
It has become known that Zhanuya has been operating since 2006 and includes an orphanage for orphaned children and children left without parental care, as well as a correctional boarding school for children with intellectual disabilities aged 4 to 18 years.
It is reported that the building was constructed in 1962 and is currently in a dilapidated condition.
«A special commission, consisting of maslikhat deputies, representatives of the public council, the education department, and other interested bodies, will monitor the progress of the construction project», noted Rafail Gasanov, chairman of the board of trustees of the SC «Zhanuya».
