Parents of pupils at Almaty School-Gymnasium No. 65 have reported serious violations of sanitary standards in the educational institution's canteen.
According to Tengrinews.kz, they published videos and photos on social media showing dirty dishes, mould on the walls, and a cluttered lift intended for food service.

"Particular attention should be paid to the food service lift — instead of being used for its intended purpose, it has essentially been turned into a rubbish dump. Underneath it, there is dirt and waste, with mouldy dishes and other signs of appalling unsanitary conditions nearby," wrote the post's author.

Following the parents' appeal to the prosecutor's office and the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service (SES), an inspection was carried out at the school. The Almaty Department of Education confirmed the violations found. According to the department, the school's headteacher received a disciplinary penalty for failing to maintain proper oversight.

It was emphasised that the situation has been reported to the district SES, and measures will be taken in accordance with established procedures against the entrepreneur responsible for providing meals at the gymnasium.

It will be recalled that a video previously circulated on social media, filmed at a kindergarten in Taldykorgan, Zhetysu region, which caused public outcry. The footage showed cockroaches crawling among the buns and other food in the institution's canteen.
