In the Abai region, the results of work in the field of employment for the current year have been summarised. The main focus was on creating new jobs, supporting small and medium-sized businesses, and implementing government programmes aimed at reducing the unemployment rate.

In 2024, 15,429 people were employed in the region on permanent jobs and 7,948 people on temporary jobs (including 769 people under the ‘Youth Practice’ programme, 284 under ‘First Job’, and 1,006 under the ‘Kümіs jas’ project).

As part of supporting entrepreneurship among socially vulnerable segments of the population, 203 citizens were provided with non-repayable grants to develop business initiatives. The amount of each grant was 400 MCI (1,476,800 tenge).

Since the beginning of the year, 306 people have been sent for vocational training. Training and professional development programmes were launched for young people and socially vulnerable groups, along with special support measures for people with special needs.

The regional akimat operates a Coordination Council for Social Protection of Persons with Disabilities. Its members include a deputy of the regional maslikhat, the commissioner for children's rights in the region, a freelance adviser to the akim on issues of persons with disabilities, as well as representatives of government bodies and public associations representing the interests of persons with disabilities.

To support citizens in difficult financial situations, targeted social assistance (TSA) payments are provided. TSA is awarded quarterly to citizens whose income does not exceed 70% of the regional subsistence minimum.

For the 4th quarter of 2024, the subsistence minimum for the region was 54,757 tenge. As of 1 December, 3,542 families (17,853 people) had received TSA.

It is noted that work on developing employment continues. For the coming year, the region has planned support for business ideas, the introduction of digital technologies into employment processes, and the creation of comfortable conditions for workers of all categories.
