Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov has denied information previously published by Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) claiming that dangerous bacteria were found in chicken meat imported into Russia from Kazakhstan.

According to Informburo.kz, Saparov stated that his department conducted an additional inspection of the meat and found no violations.

"We were exporting it, and we are still exporting it. But just in case, control from Russia has been tightened, specifically on the digital marketing market. However, this is probably down to competition and other issues too. But overall, the work continues, we are exporting, and there are no problems," the minister said.

The minister explained the corresponding publication on the website of the Russian veterinary oversight service as a "technical error."

For context, at the end of January, Rosselkhoznadzor first published, and then deleted, information claiming that bacteria of the Listeria genus had allegedly been found in a batch of broiler chicken fillet produced by the Kazakhstani Makinskaya poultry farm in the Russian city of Barnaul.
