In the Russian city of Barnaul a batch of broiler chicken fillet produced by the Makinskaya poultry farm in Kazakhstan was found to contain listeria bacteria.
_____________
For reference: Listeria monocytogenes is the causative agent of a dangerous infectious disease in humans and animals — listeriosis, which affects the central nervous system and reproductive organs. Infection with listeriosis occurs from eating raw or insufficiently heat-treated products.
According to CMN.KZ citing Russian media, this is the first such violation detected this year. Those who have already been sent the dangerous product have been notified of the need to withdraw this batch. It is noted that enhanced laboratory control has been introduced for the enterprise.
"During the examination of samples of controlled products originating from the Republic of Kazakhstan, violations of the veterinary and sanitary requirements of the Customs Union and the Russian Federation were detected: DNA of chicken and pork, not declared on the label, was found in a sample of canned horse meat; the presence of listeria, salmonella and other pathogens was detected in poultry meat samples", the statement says.
Meanwhile, Zakon.kz citing the Ministry of Agriculture, writes that the department has not received information from Rosselkhoznadzor with confirmatory results of laboratory tests.
As noted by the ministry, authorised bodies are obliged to inform all interested parties of detected violations within 10 days.
"Under enhanced laboratory control, goods produced by the enterprise that are subject to control may be moved from the territory of one member state to the territories of other EAEU member states, but each batch must then undergo sampling for subsequent laboratory control", the statement says.
It will be recalled that earlier it was reported that at the end of December 2024, a mass death of chickens occurred at the poultry farm LLP "Agrofirma AKAS" in the Baikonym rural district of the Baiterek district of the West Kazakhstan region. Studies showed that 126,000 birds died from pasteurellosis.
