A verdict has been delivered in Aktau in a case of large-scale fraud during the construction of the apartment residential buildings 'Sultan', 'Akkala' and 'Murager'.
According to the press service of the Agency for Financial Monitoring (AFM), the directors of the construction company LLP 'InteriorStroyAktau', without a construction licence, permits or design and estimate documentation, entered into 590 equity participation agreements.
As a result, the perpetrators illegally raised over 5.5 billion tenge from shareholders. Meanwhile, construction work was carried out in violation of regulations and was not completed within the stipulated timeframes.
Furthermore, the company's management embezzled 1.9 billion tenge, cashing it out from the company's cash register using fictitious construction work invoices.
During the investigation, 5 land plots and 47 vehicles were seized.
The court found the company's management guilty and sentenced them to imprisonment for a term of 3.5 to 6.5 years. Additionally, property worth 1.1 billion tenge was confiscated to compensate the civil claims of the victims.
Earlier, the Aktobe Region Prosecutor's Office referred a case to court regarding the embezzlement of 421 million tenge from shareholders of the housing construction cooperative 'Zhilishe'.
