The case concerning the residential complexes "Oasis" and "R-club" worth 8.2 billion tenge has been sent to court.

An investigation into criminal cases concerning the illegal attraction of citizens' funds for shared-equity construction has been completed in the capital. According to the prosecutor's office, the actions of the suspects affected hundreds of families and caused damage on an especially large scale.

WHAT THE INVESTIGATION ESTABLISHED

As reported by the Astana city prosecutor's office, the investigation of the criminal cases was completed under the coordination of the supervisory authority. Materials have been sent to court concerning a group of individuals whose actions, according to the investigation, caused damage amounting to 8.2 billion tenge and affected the interests of more than 426 families.

According to the agency, citizens' funds were attracted for the construction of the residential complexes Oasis, R-Club, and R-Club Deluxe without obtaining the relevant permits, which contradicts the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

HOW THE FUNDS WERE USED

According to the investigation, the funds raised were not used for their intended purpose, and the construction of the facilities was carried out improperly.

WHAT MEASURES HAVE BEEN TAKEN IN THE CASE

To secure the civil claims of the victims, property has been seized by court order. In particular, the following have been seized:

  • 10 apartments;
  • 36 land plots;
  • 16 non-residential premises;
  • 49 cars.

A preventive measure in the form of custody has been selected for 12 suspects. The final legal assessment of their actions will be given by the court.
