In Shymkent, a man has been sentenced to imprisonment for using violence against a court bailiff in the execution of his official duties. The incident occurred in the courthouse during an attempt to enter a court hearing.
HOW THE EVENTS UNFOLDED
The court established that on 26 August 2025 at approximately 2:30 pm, the man arrived at the building of the inter-district criminal court of Shymkent with acquaintances to attend a court hearing.
The court bailiff explained to them that entry to the courtroom was not possible. Despite this, one of those present opened a door intended for people with disabilities, after which the group of individuals entered the administrative building without permission.
The court bailiff, who was on duty, tried to stop them. As the court found, his lawful demands were not complied with. The victim was struck, then forcibly removed from the building to the surrounding area, and sustained bodily injuries.
The court separately noted that the defendant, upon leaving the building, saw what was happening, approached his acquaintances, and punched the victim in the face.
POSITIONS OF THE PARTIES
The prosecutor requested a custodial sentence. The victim and his representatives also insisted on a real prison term.
Meanwhile, the defendant and his lawyers requested an acquittal.
The court noted that the defendant's guilt was confirmed by the totality of evidence examined during the proceedings. In sentencing, the court took into account the lack of admission of guilt and the existence of a prior conviction.
WHAT SENTENCE WAS IMPOSED
The court found the man guilty under paragraph 3 of part 4 of Article 380 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan ("Threat or violent acts against a representative of authority") and ultimately sentenced him to 3 years and 6 months of imprisonment.
The verdict has not entered into legal force and may be appealed in accordance with the established procedure.
Earlier, it was reported that in Rudny, a man attacked a court bailiff after the seizure of his property due to child support arrears of approximately 320,000 tenge. He stabbed the woman twice in the face in a car park and was detained by police.
