According to the prosecutor's office of the Kyzylorda region, on 6 March 2026, the court passed a sentence on a resident of Kyzylorda.
The court found him guilty of committing internet fraud. He was sentenced to 3 years of restricted freedom. The convicted man is currently under probation supervision at his place of residence.
HOW THE SCHEME WORKED
According to the case materials, in 2024, the citizen acted as part of a group of people by prior conspiracy. The investigation and court established that he created a fake page on the social network Instagram, using the personal data of other people.
Through this account, citizens were promised a return on their invested funds with profit. The victims' money was channelled through the bookmaker "1XBETKZ" and the payment system "Wooppay Wallet".
HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE AFFECTED
According to the prosecutor's office, 154 people across the country suffered as a result of the actions of the scheme's participants.
The total material damage amounted to approximately 12 million tenge.
WHY THE CONVICTED MAN WAS NOT SENTENCED TO PRISON
During the main court hearing, the defendant fully admitted his guilt.
It was also reported that the material damage to the victims was fully compensated. Taking these circumstances into account, the court imposed a sentence not involving imprisonment.
The verdict has entered into legal force.
