Representatives of Atlas Development LLP have commented on the information, presented by MP Bakytzhan Bazarbek, regarding an invoice issued to the Almaty Akimat for the amount of 34 billion tenge.

"The company was the developer of a business centre in the area of Al-Farabi Avenue. Unfortunately, at the final stage of construction of this facility, which is important for the development of the business centre of Almaty, the specialised inter-district economic court of Almaty declared invalid the resolution of the Almaty Akimat regarding the land plot on which the building was being erected.", reports inbusiness.kz citing the company.

It is noted that the court did not question the legality of the land purchase transaction itself.

"The company acquired the land plot on a legal basis. The resolution of the Almaty Akimat considered in court relates to the period before the acquisition of the plot by our company. In other words, the authorised bodies have no claims against Atlas Development LLP. Whilst fulfilling its assumed investment obligations, the company did not question the legality of the Almaty Akimat's actions and invested 34 billion tenge of borrowed funds into the construction of the facility. These figures were mentioned during the court proceedings on the claim of the Almaty Land Resources Management Department.", the statement reads.

It is also noted that, in accordance with current legislation, the company, like any investor, has the right to demand compensation for damage caused by the actions of state bodies. However, to date, Atlas Development LLP has not officially filed any corresponding lawsuits.

At the same time, Atlas Development clarified that the company is committed to constructive dialogue with state bodies and interested parties to achieve an optimal outcome.

"We call on everyone to take an objective approach in covering and discussing the situation. We are open to dialogue with government agencies and the public, striving for a fair and lawful resolution of the issue.", the company summarised.

It will be recalled that the day before, Majilis MP Bakytzhan Bazarbek reported that businessman Timur Kulibaev is trying to recover 34 million tenge from the Almaty Akimat after his company lost a land plot on the territory of Al-Farabi KazNU.
