The Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition (APDC) has identified an anti-competitive agreement between HILL Corporation LLP and KTZ-Freight Transportation LLP.

"KTZ-FT applied discriminatory conditions to potential suppliers when purchasing motor oils for locomotives in order to exclude them from participating in the procurement. Thus, the actions of KTZ-FT were initially taken in the interests of HILL Corporation", the APDC press service reported.

The value of the identified anti-competitive agreement exceeded 12 billion tenge.

It was noted that the company attempted to appeal the results of the APDC investigation in court. However, based on a ruling by the Supreme Court, decisions by local courts recognising the legality of the investigation results regarding HILL Corporation LLP and KTZ-Freight Transportation LLP have entered into force.

Earlier, the APDC department for Astana identified instances of monopoly high pricing by the subsidiary JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" (KTZ) - JSC "KTZ EXPRESS". It was reported that the company inflated prices for freight forwarding services for military transportation in 2021.
