4 billion earned by KTZ from illegal leasing of railway tracks

JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" (KTZ) illegally leased out railway tracks, earning 4 billion tenge from the arrangement.

"The railway operator for three years provided station tracks, which were not eligible for property lease, to the temporary possession of JSC 'Vostokmashzavod', allowing the tenants to avoid mandatory payments for wagon downtime totalling approximately 4 billion tenge", the press service of the main transport prosecutor's office reported.

In connection with this, the prosecutor's office filed lawsuits in the courts of the Abai, Aktobe, Zhambyl, and Karaganda regions demanding the termination of the lease agreements.

Currently, the claims of the supervisory body have been fully satisfied. It is reported that the court decisions have not yet come into legal force.

Recall that previously, the head of the Supreme Audit Chamber, Alikhan Smailov, spoke about the difficult situation of the company "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy". According to him, KTZ is now on the verge of bankruptcy due to inefficient and conservative management.
