The Inter-District Criminal Court of Shymkent examined a criminal case against the accountant of the nursery school «Aqböpe». According to the press service of the region's courts, she was accused of embezzling 15 million tenge.
«T., being the accountant of nursery school No.46 «Aqböpe», that is, a person equated to those authorised to perform state functions, when paying for utilities and other payments, accrued excess amounts which she transferred to her own account, thereby misappropriating a total of more than 15 million tenge, causing damage to the state on an especially large scale», the statement said.
The defendant pleaded guilty and asked the court to impose a sentence not involving imprisonment. She fully compensated for the damage caused.
In the end, the court found the nursery school accountant guilty and sentenced her to 2 years' imprisonment with a lifetime ban from holding positions in the civil service and state institutions.
It will be recalled that earlier in the Aktobe region, pre-trial investigations were launched against a former head of a district education department, 3 heads of nursery schools and 4 nursery school accountants on suspicion of embezzling 240 million tenge.
At the beginning of October, the Inter-District Criminal Court of Astana passed a sentence on the head of the State Communal State Enterprise «Nursery School» and her deputy for economic affairs. They were accused of appropriating and embezzling entrusted property worth over 13 million tenge.
In September, in the Ulytau region, a nursery school accountant was convicted who, from 2021 to 2023, inflated her own salary. Over 3 years, she transferred more than 15 million tenge to her personal account.
In June, it was reported that in the East Kazakhstan region, the accountant of the nursery school «Katusha» had been accruing excess salary amounts for three years. In total, she transferred over 12 million tenge to her accounts.
In May, the Zhanaozen prosecutor's office identified embezzlement of budget funds by an accountant of two state nursery schools. She transferred 30 million tenge to herself.
