The Anti-Corruption Service has completed its investigation into the chairman of the fisheries committee of the Ministry of Agriculture, Nariman Zhunusov, and the head of the department for the protection of fish resources and regulation of fisheries of the Committee.
According to the department's press service, they are suspected of receiving bribes from entrepreneurs between 2021 and February 2024. The bribes were intended for general patronage.
"The investigating court has sanctioned a preventive measure in the form of 'House Arrest' with the use of an 'electronic bracelet' for the suspect," the statement reads.
The criminal case has been sent for consideration to the inter-district court for criminal cases of Astana.
Earlier, the scheme of corruption facts in which the chairman of the fisheries committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and other individuals are suspected became known.
