The head of the education department in the Aktobe region is suspected of corruption.

The head of the education department of Shalkar district, Aktobe region is suspected of taking a bribe. 

According to the press service of the Anti-Corruption Agency, he is accused of receiving a bribe of 18.5 million tenge from the heads of subordinate organisations. The director of a district secondary school acted as an intermediary. 

By court order, the head of the education department and the district school director have been taken into custody.

"In accordance with Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code, other information is not subject to disclosure in the interests of the investigation. In accordance with subparagraph 1 of paragraph 3 of Article 77 of the Constitution and Part 1 of Article 19 of the Criminal Procedure Code, everyone is presumed innocent until their guilt in committing a criminal offence is established by a court verdict that has entered into legal force.", the statement said.
