Prosecutors in the North Kazakhstan region have uncovered cases of state employees failing to comply with anti-corruption restrictions on participation in gambling.
According to the press service of the department, the chief specialist of the construction and architecture department of the Akzhar district akimat systematically placed bets at the bookmaker's office '1XBET'.
Similar violations were found regarding the chief specialists of the administration of the Uyalinsky rural district and the education department of Akzhar district.
"Based on acts of prosecutorial supervision, the aforementioned officials have been dismissed, and all state employees have been strictly instructed to comply with anti-corruption restrictions", the statement said.
It is noted that in July last year, amendments were made to the law 'On Combating Corruption', according to which state employees are prohibited from gambling. Otherwise, they are subject to dismissal on negative grounds.
Recall that in February last year, the Aktobe city court announced a verdict for the chief accountant of school-gymnasium No. 55, Bezcat Tazhenov, who lost stolen public money totalling more than 413 million tenge on bets.
In May, the prosecutor's office of Karatobinsky district of the West Kazakhstan Region revealed that an accountant of a state institution, using the manager's digital signature key, transferred budget funds of approximately 7 million tenge to his own account. It was reported that the defendant only compensated 1 million tenge of the damage. In court, he stated that the stolen funds were spent on online gambling.
