A sentence has been passed in Astana on the head of LLP "Dorstroitrest", Yerden Nurabayev, in a case concerning the misappropriation and embezzlement of budget funds allocated for the construction of the Kok-Tobe residential complex.
According to the press service of the Agency for Financial Monitoring (AFM), in January 2022, JSC "Samruk-Kazyna Construction" entered into an investment agreement for construction with LLP "Dorstroitrest".
The contractor was paid an advance of 2.6 billion tenge. However, the work was carried out with violations and was not completed within the stipulated timeframe.
Furthermore, approximately 650 million tenge was channelled through fictitious contracts to accounts of affiliated companies and cashed out.
As a result, the head of LLP "Dorstroitrest" was found guilty and sentenced to 7 years in prison. The court also ordered the confiscation of his property valued at 131 million tenge.
The former managing director of JSC "Samruk-Kazyna Construction" remains on the international wanted list.
It will be recalled that the completion of the investigation into the managing director of JSC "Samruk-Kazyna Construction" and the head of LLP "Dorstroitrest" was reported in May of this year.
At that time, with a court sanction, property belonging to the suspects valued at 170 million tenge (5 cars and an apartment in Astana) was seized. The former managing director of JSC "Samruk-Kazyna Construction" was placed on the international wanted list.
