In the Kordai District Court, the deputy head of the Zhambyl regional branch of KazAvtoZhol, D. Tuletayev, the project manager of the contractor company DorStroy LLP, U. Kurbanov, and the technical supervision expert of Almaty Sapa Engineering LLP, D. Musakula, have been convicted.
According to the press service of the Anti-Corruption Agency, they were found guilty of embezzling more than 296 million tenge during the construction and renovation of the Kordai checkpoint on the Kazakh-Kyrgyz border.
"The embezzlement was carried out by signing off on uncompleted work, double payments for the same types of work, inflating costs, and the non-delivery of equipment," the statement said.
Tuletayev and Kurbanov were each sentenced to 8 years in prison, with a 10-year ban on undertaking road construction work and business activities in the construction sector.
Musakula was sentenced to 7 years in prison with a 10-year ban on providing engineering services in the field of architectural, urban planning, and construction activities.
Recall that earlier, the inter-district criminal court of Astana delivered a verdict against the former chairman of the board of NC KazAvtoZhol JSC, Askar Muratuly, and the director of Asyl-ZhAS LLP, Kazbek Zhumageldiyev. They were accused of embezzling 200 million tenge.
