In the Korday district of the Zhambyl region, the head of the veterinary department, Galym Sabraly, attempted to take his own life in his office.
According to the Telegram channel "HALYQSTAN", Sabraly slit the veins on his left arm. He is currently conscious and his life is not in danger. An ambulance crew took him to the central district hospital.
Local executive and law enforcement authorities have not yet commented on the incident. Locals in Korday report that police cordoned off the scene of the incident.
Journalists suggest that Galym Sabraly attempted suicide due to the arrival of staff from the regional veterinary station.
"Earlier, a comprehensive inspection was carried out in all district veterinary departments. Sabraly had received reprimands for repeated violations, which he was supposed to rectify by the beginning of December. Specialists from the regional veterinary station arrived in the district specifically to check that these violations had been resolved," the statement reads.
It is worth recalling that in February, an accountant from the education department of the Maktaaral district in the Turkestan region committed suicide. The media suggested that the cause was a criminal case opened against the department's accountants. At the time, the regional department of economic investigations stated that an inquiry was underway into the misappropriation of budget funds.
