An internal investigation is being conducted in Taraz against a police officer — a juvenile affairs inspector Bakhytzhamal Omirzak. The reason was a complaint about damage to a car, filed by a former employee of the city prosecutor's office Daniyar Kuttybayev.
According to the Telegram channel "HALYQSTAN", the incident occurred on 16 December. As the complainant reported, his acquaintance damaged a Hyundai Elantra car parked near a house: the tyres were punctured, the front wings and boot were damaged. He reported the matter to the 102 emergency line.
The material was registered at Taraz Police Station No. 1, but no further procedural decision was made on the complaint, and the document was classified as file material.
Meanwhile, the police department of the Zhambyl region confirmed the fact of the complaint and announced the start of an internal investigation.
"By order of the head of the police department of the Zhambyl region, an internal investigation has been launched against the police officer. During the inquiry, a legal assessment of her actions will be provided in accordance with the law. The leadership of the Police Department emphasises that instances of negligent performance of official duties by personnel will not go unnoticed, and if violations are established, those responsible will be held accountable," the statement said.
It has become known that the complainant's brother is Zhaidarbek Kuttybayev, who previously held the position of Deputy Head of the Police Department of the Zhambyl Region and oversaw the human resources unit. In the autumn of this year, he was detained on suspicion of fraud. According to the investigation, the case is linked to showing favouritism towards certain subordinates.
