A criminal case has been initiated in the Zhambyl region regarding the theft of diesel fuel at a branch of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" (KTZ).

According to reports from media citing the company's press service, authorised bodies have established damages in the amount of 36 million tenge during the investigation.

"As part of internal audits by the KTZ audit service in 2023, during an inspection of the Zhambyl track section, damage to self-propelled special rolling stock was identified. KTZ sent the materials to the Department of Economic Investigations for the Zhambyl region. In this regard, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated, in which KTZ has been recognised as the aggrieved party," the statement said.

It will be recalled that in May last year, the court of the Beimbet Mailin district announced a sentence against KTZ officials in the Kostanay region. They were found guilty of stealing diesel fuel and funds allocated for the repair of a railway crane, totalling 12 million tenge.
