The Criminal Chamber of the Military Court announced a verdict against officials from the Main Quartering Directorate (GUQV), JSC «Әскери Құрылыс», representatives of the author and technical supervision, as well as other individuals.
«Former Vice-President of JSC «Әскери құрылыс» Temirbayev A., site manager Kabulitayev T., company director Ibragimova E., representatives of author and technical supervision Doschanov A. and Shaypranov D., head of the subcontractor organisation Gazyazov G. and his authorised representative Omarov A. were found guilty of embezzling 491.6 million tenge allocated for the capital repair of sewerage treatment facilities in the military town of the Saryozek garrison in the Almaty region.» - reported the press service of the Anti-Corruption Service.
As a result, they were sentenced to 7 years in prison with confiscation of property and a ban on engaging in activities related to public procurement for the same period.
The First Deputy Head of the GUQV Abdrakhmanov B., the Head of the Capital Construction Department Onlabayev K., and an officer of the same department, Lesbayev B., were found guilty of negligence. Their sentence has not been disclosed.
For context, the former President of JSC «Әскери құрылыс», Yerlan Tazhidenov, as well as his relatives and subordinates, were previously sentenced to 8 years. They were found guilty of concluding fictitious contracts with affiliated companies. The total damage amounted to more than 590 million tenge.
In addition, the media reported that LLP «Әскери құрылыс Astana» (a subsidiary of JSC «Әскери құрылыс»), which won the tender for construction and repair of Ministry of Defence facilities in 2020, has debts to subcontractors. As a result, in 2022, the Anti-Corruption Service launched an inspection of violations in the work of «Әскери құрылыс».
