A former General Director of the LLP "Elorda kurylys kompaniasy", Ruslan Kadesov, and his accomplice Olzhas Davletov, have been sentenced in Astana.

For reference: LLP "Elorda kurylys kompaniasy" is a state-owned company responsible for completing the construction of problematic properties.
According to the Telegram channel "Svidetel.kz", Kadesov headed the company from March to September 2022. It is reported that a month after his appointment, he received a bribe from the owner of LLP "KazStroyDevelopment-2050", Asan Asanov.
"In return, Kadesov was supposed to help with the payment of an advance and an increase in the estimated cost of constructing a residential complex at the intersection of streets E16, E17, and E32", the message states.
According to the defendant, the developer complained about problems with the advance and suggested meeting outside of work.
"Asanov <...> hinted that he wanted to thank me for this advance. <...> I called him over to the car and said: 'You deposit 1% today, then the advance will come through on Monday,' and showed him Olzhas Davletov's phone number on a piece of paper", Kadesov stated.
For his part, Asanov reported that they agreed on a sum of 170 million tenge for the payment of the advance and the estimate increase. 30 million was to be paid immediately. He handed over this sum in dollars through Davletov.
"After this, Kadesov signed documents for the transfer of an advance totalling 1.6 billion tenge. The remaining part of the bribe was paid in several tranches", the message states.
However, the advance to the developer was never paid later, and in the autumn of 2022, Kadesov resigned. At the same time, Asanov filed a statement with the Anti-Corruption Agency.
As a result, Kadesov was sentenced to 10 years in prison for receiving a bribe, and Davletov to 6 months for acting as an intermediary.
Furthermore, Kadesov's cars, a Lexus LX570, Kia Carnival, Land Rover Defender and BMW 750, were confiscated, and 170 million tenge was also recovered from him in favour of the state.
Reminder: in November of last year, residents of Astana complained about "Elorda Kurylys Kompaniasy", which is responsible for completing problematic properties.
