In Aktau, a worker died at "MAEK" LLP (Mangistau Atomic Energy Plant).
According to Lada.kz, a pipe fell on a repair shop foreman.
"At the energy plant <...> on 23 December, an emergency incident occurred. According to an unofficial source, a repair shop foreman died at the workplace around 4:00 p.m. The death was caused by a falling pipe," the report states.
The regional police commented on the incident.
"A criminal case has been opened for violation of occupational safety rules. An expert examination has been ordered. An investigation is underway," explained the press service of the regional police department.
As a reminder, in early September it was reported that in the East Kazakhstan Region, at the Irtysh and Artemyevsk mines, owned by the copper mining company "KAZ Minerals", 5 workers died.
On 18 September, in the Zhambyl Region, at one of the processing plants of JSC "AK Altynalmas", a worker was buried by rock.
At the same time, in the Aktobe Region, at the mine of the mining enterprise "Aktobe Copper Company", a crusher operator died due to an ore collapse.
Literally the next day, it became known that at the Orlovskaya mine in the Abai Region, a worker died as a result of a rock mass collapse.
In early October, at the "Sayak-3" mine in the Karaganda Region, there was a carbon monoxide release. Two workers died, and several others were taken to hospital.
At the end of October, at the "Mirny" quarry of the "Molodezhnaya" mine of the Donskoy Mining and Processing Plant – a branch of JSC "TNC Kazchrome" – two workers died.
